Light is an essential factor for good vision. Without adequate lighting, daily tasks and hobbies can become less enjoyable, even impossible. And if you have less than perfect vision, or “low vision,” inadequate lighting can make these activities even more problematic.

To combat the effects of low vision, the Lighting Research Center, the world's largest university-based center for lighting education and research, recommends increasing light levels by placing fixtures close to your task area and selecting light bulbs with more lumens or light output.

Westinghouse has designed the unique chrome-top Eye Saver™ to direct light where you need it most. The Eye Saver™ substantially increases light output for individuals experiencing symptoms of low vision.

The innovative design, developed in association with NASA, effectively concentrates the maximum amount of light toward reading material, hobbies, crafts, or whatever task may be at hand. The Eye Saver’s™ lightly frosted finish reduces eye strain by diminishing glare and produces 40% more light than a standard incandescent bulb of equivalent wattage.
